IMVIP 2016 will be hosted in the O'TnĂșthail Theatre (AM150), located in the Arts Millennium building on the South Campus of the National University of Ireland, Galway. A direct link to the conference location is provided here.

Public transport

IMVIP 2016 will be held in the National University of Ireland, Galway. Galway is a city on the West coast and is easily accessed by road and rail. Additionally, several international airports are connected to Galway via road/rail connections. Airports are located in Dublin (2hr bus journey leaving from airport hourly), Shannon (2 hour bus journey, less frequent) and Knock (2 hour bus journey, less frequent).
Both bus and train stations are located in the heart of Galway city and are a 10 minute walk from University. Local commuter buses stop in Eyre square, which service much of the suburbs.

Express bus services from Dublin and Dublin airport are provided by GoBus and CityLink.
For other locations the Irish bus service Bus Eireann provides service. Bus Eireann also runs commuter buses around Galway city. All of these services should appear on Google maps under public transport.

Driving to Galway

NUIG is located on the North-West of Galway city. If travelling by car, it is recommended to allow additional time for significant traffic during rush hours.
On-campus pay & display parking is available for the duration of the conference and a limited number of parking discs may be available.

Staying in Galway

Accommodation is available in the local student village and various B&Bs near campus. A brief list of local B&Bs and hotels is available here. Students attending the conference may wish to stay in the University's student accommodation.

While you are here

Galway itself is steeped in history and it is only a short drive to Connemara and the Burren - areas of natural beauty. The Aran Islands are a local tourist attraction and can be visited through a local bus/ferry company.
Galway has a lively night life, with live music around the city and is quickly becoming an attractive gastronomic location. The city has many fine-dining restaurants, among which are two Michelin star restaurants.
