Location and Accommodation

The Workshop will be held on the campus of NUI Galway, in the Information Technology Building from 09:30 Tuesday 12th June to lunchtime on Friday 15th June.

Details of the location of the campus, and advice on the most convenient routes to Galway can be found at the Applied Optics web pages. You are strongly urged to stay for the whole duration of the conference, arriving during the weekend or on Monday 11th and departing after lunch on Friday 15th.

Travellers from the USA are advised to travel via Shannon, which is two hours by frequent bus service from Galway. Others are advised to travel to Shannon (if there is a flight, probably Ryanair) or to Dublin and then take an Aer Arann flight from Dublin to Galway, or from the UK you can fly direct to Galway. Surface travel from Dublin is 3-4 hours by bus or car (200km). If you require advice on travel, please contact Prof Dainty (c.dainty@nuigalway.ie).

Accommodation will be in hotels, bed and breakfast guesthouses and on-campus housing, and will range in price from about €40 to €150 per night.
