In Galway there was a small airport that connected to Dublin and Cork, as well as Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bradford, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Southampton in the UK. Unfortunately the airport ceased activity in 2012 and no flights are scheduled anymore.
